Validation & Documentation

Structured engineering and equipment documentation supporting installation, operation, maintenance, qualification and quality systems.

Mechotech supports structured engineering and equipment documentation for extraction and distillation projects, helping customers establish traceable records for installation, operation, maintenance, qualification and internal or regulatory quality systems.

Mechotech has engineered extraction and distillation solutions since 1997, serving pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, botanical-extract, essential-oil, oleoresin, natural-colour and food-processing applications across laboratory, pilot and commercial scales and multiple extraction technologies.

What This Service Delivers

  • Equipment data and technical dossiers
  • General arrangement and approved drawings
  • P&ID and process documentation as agreed
  • Operation and maintenance manuals
  • Inspection and test records
  • Installation and operational qualification support documents where applicable
  • SOP and checklist support
  • Spare-parts and preventive-maintenance documentation

1Our Documentation Approach

Our documentation approach begins with the equipment, process and the customer's quality requirements — identifying the drawings, records, manuals and qualification documents needed for traceable installation, operation, maintenance and audit readiness.

Deliverables are aligned with the contract scope and the customer's quality system. Equipment can be engineered and documented to support qualification, but final protocols and acceptance criteria remain the responsibility of the operating manufacturer. Existing plants can also be documented after document review and site verification, within an agreed scope.

2Applications

Documentation and qualification support suits quality-sensitive facilities:

  • Pharmaceutical-oriented facilities
  • Nutraceutical plants
  • Botanical extract manufacturing
  • Natural colour and oleoresin facilities
  • Quality-system upgrades
  • New equipment qualification and handover

3Typical Documentation Scope

A documentation package is assembled through a defined sequence:

  • 1. Scope definition: Documentation and qualification scope definition.
  • 2. Technical dossiers: Equipment data and technical dossiers.
  • 3. Drawings: General arrangement, approved drawings and P&IDs as agreed.
  • 4. Manuals: Operation and maintenance manuals.
  • 5. Records: Inspection and test records.
  • 6. Qualification: Installation and operational qualification support documents where applicable.
  • 7. Procedures: SOP and checklist support.
  • 8. Spares & PM: Spare-parts and preventive-maintenance documentation.

  • SOP, calibration and maintenance requirements.
  • Site and utility information.
  • Audit or handover deadlines, if any.

Frequently Asked Questions

What documents are typically supplied with process equipment?+
The exact dossier depends on contract scope and can include drawings, equipment data, manuals, certificates, inspection records, recommended spares, maintenance guidance and agreed qualification documents.
What are IQ and OQ?+
Installation Qualification documents evidence that equipment is installed according to approved requirements; Operational Qualification documents verify operation against defined functional criteria. Final protocols and acceptance requirements should align with the customer's quality system.
Does documentation help audits?+
Well-controlled, traceable documentation can support maintenance, training, change control, qualification and audit readiness.
Can documentation be prepared for an existing plant?+
Yes. After document review and site verification, missing or outdated engineering and operating documents can be identified and updated within an agreed scope.
