Niaouli (Leaves) Oil Distillation Plant
- Mechotech: Advanced Solutions Niaouli (Leaves) Oil Distillation Plant Leaves) Oil Distillation Plant Niauli (leaves) Oil Distillation Plan - Advanced Essential Oil Extraction Technology. Introduction Niaoli (Meleluka Quinquenveria) is a medicinal tree in Australia, Madagascar and Southeast Asia. Its leaves are rich in essential oil, which contain cinema, peenine, viridiflerol and Limonine, which are highly valuable in pharmaceutical products, aromatherapy, cosmetics and personal care. To meet.
Mechotech designs and manufactures the Niaouli (Leaves) Oil Distillation Plant as a turnkey solution with SS 316L construction, integrated solvent recovery, and full documentation support. Our plant engineering team ensures optimal process parameters for maximum yield and quality compliance with FSSAI, WHO-GMP, and pharmaceutical-grade specifications.
Manufacturing Process
Raw Material Sourcing & Preparation
High-quality Niaouli (Leaves) plant material is sourced, authenticated for botanical identity, and dried to below 10% moisture content. Material is cleaned to remove soil, foreign matter, and damaged plant parts before loading.
Loading the Distillation Vessel
The prepared Niaouli (Leaves) material is loaded into the SS 316L distillation chamber on a perforated support grid. The charge density is optimised to allow uniform steam distribution through the packed bed without channelling.
Steam Distillation
Low-pressure steam at controlled temperature is passed through the Niaouli (Leaves) charge, volatilising the essential oil compounds. The vapour-laden steam travels upward through a goose-neck into the condenser unit.
Condensation & Separation
The steam-oil vapour mixture is cooled in a shell-and-tube condenser at 15–25°C, condensing into liquid. The condensate flows into a Florentine flask where the essential oil separates from the hydrosol water by density difference and is collected.
Quality Analysis
Each batch is tested by GC-MS for chemical composition, specific gravity, refractive index, and optical rotation against standard reference specifications. The hydrosol is collected separately as a co-product with its own commercial applications.
Packaging & Storage
Finished Niaouli (Leaves) essential oil is filtered through a 1-micron cartridge, filled into aluminium or stainless steel containers under nitrogen headspace, and stored below 20°C away from light and moisture to preserve aroma and chemical integrity.

Key Features
GMP-Compliant SS 316L Construction
All product-contact surfaces are fabricated in electropolished SS 316L stainless steel, meeting WHO-GMP and Schedule M requirements for botanical extract manufacturing. Designed for clean-in-place (CIP) operation between batches.
Closed-Loop Solvent Recovery (>95%)
Integrated condenser-distillation solvent recovery system achieves greater than 95% solvent return per batch, significantly reducing variable operating cost and ensuring compliance with CPCB solvent discharge regulations.
Scalable Batch Capacity
Plants are designed in standard capacities from 100 kg/batch pilot scale to 2,000+ kg/batch commercial configurations for Niaouli (Leaves) Oil Distillation Plant. Modular design allows capacity expansion without replacing core equipment.
Integrated Quality Control
In-line sampling ports at each processing stage enable in-process quality monitoring. Plant design accommodates HPLC, GC, and physical testing equipment for batch release documentation required by pharmaceutical and food buyers.
Explosion-Proof Design (Solvent Zones)
All electrical equipment, motors, instruments, and fittings in solvent-handling areas are certified explosion-proof per ATEX/PESO standards, ensuring safe operation with flammable ethanol, hexane, and acetone solvents.
